run from them, with no direction. run to them, full speed ahead

Look around. Constant movement. Movement of the body. Movement of technology. Movement of nature. Movement of the soul, the mind, the spirit. Movement in the physical. Movement in the emotional. Everywhere motion. Constant. Spontaneous. Fast paced. Chaotic. Motion. Always motion.
Quick to run, slow to reach a destination. That is what we are. That is what we do. The human race is constantly running. Running from something. Running to something. Someone. So much running.
Running away…
Trying to escape. Escape the mistakes that taunt us. The relationships that broke us. Trying to escape the past that burdens us.
Running to find…
Searching for something to erase those mistakes. Searching for ways to make the ones that broke us, mend us. For ways to forget the past.
What happens when we all just stop? Stop running away from things that aren’t so pretty. Stop running to things that will merely cover up those we don’t want to look at. Stop. For 5 minutes. Just stop.
I wonder what the world would be if we all took the mistakes that shame us and let them be the mistakes that shape us. I am curious how it would be if we took the relationships that broke us and let them become the relationships that better us. I think about what it would be like if we let the past that haunt us turn into the past that heals us.
We can learn from the things that shame us, break us, haunt us. But we have to stop fleeing from them. Its scary, to face those things head on. But if we don’t, we can miss out on great lessons. We can miss out on the greatness life has to offer if we let fear rule our judgments, our actions, our lives.
If its movement we are looking for, running we desire, fervent seeking we need to do, let’s start moving towards freedom, running towards joy, seeking after Christ.
I want to be better for those around me. The ones whom I love, they deserve the best version of Danielle I can give them. I am tired of running… who’s with me?
